About this tool
Government exams don't measure your age in years alone — they freeze it at a specific cutoff date, and that date differs by recruiter. SSC and UPSC typically compute age as on 01-August of the exam year; IBPS Clerk uses 01-July; SBI PO has used 01-April; RRB uses 01-January; NEET checks 17 years as on 31-December of the admission year. The same date of birth can be eligible for one exam and ineligible for another held the same season.
This tool computes your calendar-exact age (years, months, days) on the selected exam's cutoff date and compares it against the typical minimum/maximum window, including the category relaxations each recruiter usually grants (OBC-NCL +3 years, SC/ST +5 years, PwBD +10 years under central norms). Boundary cases are handled precisely: being one day short of a window genuinely shows as ineligible.
One honest limitation: notifications change every cycle — limits move by a year, cutoffs shift, posts carry different caps. Which cutoff date does my exam use?

I'm within limits on relaxations but not general. Am I eligible?
If you hold a valid OBC-NCL / SC / ST / PwBD certificate in the required format, the relaxed upper limit applies to you. Add the relaxation years mentally (typically +3/+5/+10) and re-check; certificates must usually be current on the cutoff date — read the notification's certificate clause carefully.
Why does one day matter so much?
Because eligibility freezes on the cutoff date, not 'today'. Someone born on 02-Aug-2003 is 20y11m29d on 01-Aug-2024 and misses UPSC's 21-year floor by a single day, while someone born 01-Aug-2003 meets it exactly. The calculator is deliberately precise about this.
Does JEE Main have an age limit?
No. JEE Main imposes no age criterion — eligibility hinges on your Class-12 passing year instead. The tool shows your age for reference but marks the verdict 'no age criterion'.
Is there an upper age limit for NEET UG?
Currently no upper limit is enforced. NMC has floated proposals (like a 25-year cap) over the years but never conclusively implemented them. The tool treats only the 17-years-by-31-December floor as active, matching recent bulletins.
RRB NTPC shows two different maximums?
Correct — graduate-level posts carry up to 33 years, undergraduate-level posts up to 30. The tool uses the wider graduate window and flags the difference in the notes; pick your target post before relying on the result.
Are these limits guaranteed for this year?
No — and we won't pretend otherwise. Limits and cutoff dates are revised periodically and some posts deviate from the norm. Treat this as a planning tool and always verify the current official notification.
